1974-1975 7th President Mr. Manuel Lopez ,B.Sc.Ed.( I.A.)

                                                             



 Highlights of the main Events and Achievements of Mr. Manuel Lopez's Administration:


  • Society participated in the Joseph Howe Festival :  A program was presented at the N.S. Hospital Auditorium with Mrs. Gloria Sangalang as the Emcee. Dartmouth,N.S., August,1974.


  • The Society participated in the Halifax Natal Day Parade: A replica of the Majestic Mayon Volcano with a peerless cone was shown about to erupt. It was mounted as a center piece of the decorated float. The "Filipino Band" on board provided live music.
  • The Float was exotic, majestic and spectacular !


  • Award Recipients:
  • " The Most Valuable Basketball Player of the F.A.N.S. Team"...Eng. Eddie Guinto.

  • " The FANS MOST OUTSTANDING LEADER
  •    AWARD " ...

  • The "Filipino Band" was at the peak of its performance.  Had numerous  engagements in Halifax, Dartmouth, Wolfville,N.S., etc.          Band Leader-Mr. B. Espanol

  • Bowling Tournament:
  • South Park Lanes- The"Falcons" axed the " "Kampupot". Highest single male- Mr. Tony de Castro.  H.S. female- Mrs. Gloria Croox.


  • Christmas Celebration- Hotel Nova Scotian,        Dec.21,1974.

  • Filipino Night Celebration:   The Philippine  Independence was commemorated at the Halifax Holiday Inn.    June 14,1975.

Annual Picnic:   The children and adults had a picnic at the Point Pleasant Park.   Games were played between children.  Adults had   "sack race" and "egg rally  contest".    June 23,1975.
