  • Filipino Language School Survey was conducted by  Mr.Wesley Heber. The response was tremendous. Three Filipino Teachers were recruited

  • Mr. Amado Foronda has been the Editor-in-Chief of  our  "F. A. N. S.  MAIL " from 1977 to 1965.  He      published more than eight (8) issues.

  • The senior Filipino members were encouraged and given the chance to participate in the affaires of the Society.( Mr. A. Foronda).

    HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MAIN EVENTS &
    ACHIEVEMENTS OF  DR. ELIZABETH R.
    EUSTAQUIO-DOMONDON'S ADMINISTRATION :

       . Dr. Elizabeth Eustaquio- Domondon's
         Board of Directors worked hard cooperative-
         ly and developed a TWO YEAR PLAN OF
         ACTIVITIES.

       . The Two Year Plan Of Activities was
         developed  in response to the Question: 
         "What's in it for the Active Member ?  


      . Introduced new activities for FANS Active
        Membership.

      . Developed a program segregating Active
        Membership from the Non-Active.

      . Increased the SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP by
        6 times in 2010 and 2011.

      . Improved the dessimination of information
        using e-mails and phone calls.  This was
        done efficiently and effectively by Imelda
        Montinola and Marlene Melanson.

      . Conducted regular monthly Board of
        Directors meeting to address issues and
        brain storm on new ideas.

      . Conducted fund raising activities like
        Pacifico Nights.

      . Donated $500.00 in 2010 to a cancer 
        " Kababayan" , Reagan Bengcang. He was
        afflicted with " Hodgekin's  Lymphoma ". 

      . The Board of Directors developed a more
        organized way of Planning and Executing
        many and varied events.

      . In the spirit of "Giving Back" to members,
        the SOCIETY absorbed almost 33% of the
        cost of the 2010  NEW YEAR'S EVE
        DINNER & DANCE.

      . Acquired new coffee maker and tea maker.

      . Acquired three tables for outdoor activities.

      . Acquired mirror balls for party lighting,
        $ 68.93.
      . Secured Liability Insurance for the whole
        year in 2011 , to meet Venue Events
        Requirements- $ 500.00.

      . Sponsored Family Bowling Events in 2010
        and 2011.

      .The  FANS , in partnership with  The Philip-
        pine Embassy in Ottawa hosted the  OUT-
        REACH CONSULAR  OFFICE in Halifax.
        Consular services such as PASSPORT
        RENEWAL, POLICE CLEARANCE,GRANTING
        OF DOUBLE CITIZENSHIP etc. were 
        available in Halifax, instead of appearing in
        Ottawa in person.  Consular Services were
        usually completed in no less than three
        days.
       
        Thanks to Mrs. Gloria Hussain for providing
        the venue in 2009 and 2011.  In 2012, the
        World Trade & Convention Center(WTCC)
        was the venue.     Thanks to Dr. Elizabeth
        Eustaquio-Domondon for organizing and
        co-ordinating these events and to the
        volunteers who spent their time unselfishly.


      . FANS initiated a successful and well attend-
        ed " FIESTA FILIPINO EVENT" to display
        our Filipino talents and opened  avenue
        for FANS future events.



      . Held another successful Gala Night, and
        New Year in September 2011.



      . Mailed out a post-dated cheque to Ludy
        Tayona. This was a returned donation re:
        Land and Building Project- $ 1,011.67



      . Dr. & Mrs. Jacobo Rosales & Erlinda
        Obellos Asuncion and Family have
        donated One thousand seven hundred
        and twenty dollars and no cents, in one
        cheque ( $1,720.00 ) for the LAND &
        BUILDING PROJECT, and did not ask for a  
        return of the donation.  Because the
        Project became defunct the donor will
        be re-donating it for FANS FUTURE
        Projects. 
      



      . Donation to be made to the Philippine
        Calamity victims, raised from the 2011
        New Year's Party 50-50 draw of $255.00.
        FANS will round it off to $ 1,000.00 and
        Contact Canadian Red Cross for the cheque.


       . Dr. Elizabeth R. Eustaquio-Domondon was
         re-elected after her 1st Term, and so
         her  TWO YEAR PLAN OF ACTIVITIES were
         re-activated.



      . A free EXTERNAL AUDIT  was done by a
        Chartered Accountant, Scott Montreuil son
        in law of Eddie and Linda Guinto,regarding
        2007-2010 FANS OPERATIONS.
